The course is designed for early-career researchers and PhD students at Palacký University Olomouc aiming to adopt and promote open research practices in their scholarly activities. Open research (or open science) emphasises transparency, collaboration, and accessibility in all phases of a research process, from data collection to dissemination. The course covers key practices (open access publishing and sharing open data especially) and practical tools, enabling participants to align their work with open research standards and fulfil funders? requirements (e.g. Horizon Europe). It is tailored to researchers from diverse disciplines and does not require prior experience in open research.
Educational objectives of the programme:
The objectives are to introduce participants to open research, familiarise them with key principles of open research, and provide hands-on guidance on open research practices, including open access publishing, sharing open data, and preregistration. The course primarily focuses on understanding the content and applying the knowledge in further research activities (selecting an appropriate OA publishing model, funding, CC licenses, selection of publication and/or data repositories, research data management, etc.).
Required prerequisites:
The LLL programme is designed for the staff of Palacký University in Olomouc

Participants will be able to explain the significance and benefits of open research for individual researchers and the wider academic community, identify key principles of open research and apply them to their research workflows and choose appropriate tools and platforms for open access publishing, data sharing etc.
