Annotation of the programme:
The distance-learning module "Inclusive Practice: Tools for Supporting Participation and Engagement" (5 ECTS) introduces participants to inclusive practice through the application of Adapted Physical Activity systems and principles. It focuses on creating conditions for the meaningful participation of individuals with special needs through inclusive physical activities, fostering active engagement across the lifespan. The module integrates knowledge of motor development and neurodevelopmental characteristics with the principles of inclusive practice and person-centered planning. Emphasis is placed on understanding an individual's needs, abilities, and preferences, as well as the environmental factors influencing their participation. Participants learn to identify barriers to and facilitators of participation, individualize support, and adapt physical activities. Support planning is grounded in a partnership-based approach that respects autonomy and ensures the individual's active involvement in decision-making. The module progressively explores inclusion opportunities across different life stages?from early childhood and school age through adolescence to adulthood and old age?taking into account changes in motor abilities, life roles, and opportunities for physical activity. Through distance learning, case study analysis, and reflection, participants link developmental insights with strategies to support participation within family, educational, and community settings. The target group primarily includes educators, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, coaches, social workers, and other professionals, as well as students in these related fields.
